Downtown Metamora was at its most charming this past Sunday, December 7, 2025, as the annual Wassailing Parade made its way through the village. It’s one of the community’s most beloved winter traditions, blending equestrian heritage, small-town character, and the unmistakable spirit of the season—and this year’s parade delivered all of it in full.
Jacob Hawkins Photography joined us and captured the afternoon beautifully. From horses and hounds to carriages, riders, and the hundreds who lined the streets, his photos reflect everything that makes this annual event such a hallmark of Metamora life.
For many, the parade is a perfect prelude to a warm meal or drink at the White Horse Inn, and we loved welcoming guests as they came in from the cold to continue the celebration. The energy throughout the day felt festive, familiar, and unmistakably “Metamora in December.”
Below, you’ll find a selection of Jacob’s images from the parade. We’re grateful to everyone who came out, supported local traditions, and helped make the day feel so special.
Thank you for celebrating the season with us at the White Horse Inn.
